Planet fantastic! I just love this Marsboy Bluetooth 4.1 Speaker, its awesome! Its sat at the side of me right now on the windowsill, its LED colours delighting me as Jeremy Vine chats to me hehe. Love it! I loved it straight out of the box!
The Marsboy arrives very well boxed and inside you’ll find the Marsboy, an excellent quality flat long Micro USB charging cable, a 3.5mm Aux cable and a user manual, which is presented in different languages of course, but the English section is easy to understand and follow.
Before I switched it on with that little switch (On/Off) at the back, I inspected the Marsboy. The quality of build is exceptional, a perfect black orb engineered with a premium plastic housing, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and with its name proudly displayed at the base. Its larger than I imagined and very impressive indeed. It looks so good that I now have it in use in my living room for everyone to enjoy.
Before even looking at the instructions I switched it on to see if it had shipped with any power and it had, so I could get to use it right away. I was excited to use it, was glad I didn’t have to wait to charge it up. After switching on I was just about to look up the pairing process when it came up immediately in the Bluetooth settings on my iPhone, with no intervention from me. It was paired immediately!
I then played a radio station and literally stood back watching it for a good ten minutes, whilst sipping coffee. Its quite mesmerising! I love the gorgeous colours as they play on the Marsboy. You can of course switch off the LED colours which come through in a planetary type way (it really does look like Mars!!) from the blackness of the grille. Awesome! So wonderfully designed. Kids, teens and adults alike will adore this. Also, what a fab Christmas present if you are looking for something a bit more special than the average Bluetooth speaker!
It sounds amazing too! My first test of the sound quality was my hubby phoning me from work within minutes of me starting to use it. The radio stopped playing and the Marsboy announced the call coming through. As I use an App to take/make calls through my iPhone (live rural, no signal from my network provider) it didn’t tell me the number of who was calling, but for you, if the call is coming in via your network rather than over the internet like mine did, it will read out the number calling. Great for deciding if you are in or out. So, your Marsboy is also a perfect loudspeaker for phone calls. I could hear hubby a lot clearer than normal, though he said I was echoing his end, but that’s probably my pants broadband rather than the Marsboy.
A full charge of the Marsboy will take about 3 hours (works for me!) and then you’ll get an amazing 12 hours of playback. Brilliant.
Internally it houses a 3000mAh lithium battery and offers an incredible Bluetooth range of 49.5 feet and yes it does! I walked away from the Marsboy with my iPhone and it kept playing and that was through thick rural cottage walls, amazing! I can’t find anything not to love about this Marsboy, that’s a fact.
But, it’s not just for playing music/listening to audio books/ phonically through speakerphone etc. You can also load music into the Marsboy via a Micro SD card (not included but cheap enough to buy nowadays) or on a USB flash drive!! Awesome and yeah, I’m gushing about this Marsboy, its so cute and sounds so good and does everything I could possibly want it to do. So glad I was chosen to review it and of course, I highly recommend it to you all, whatever age you are, you’ll love this! Brightened up my morning no end and continues to keep me entertained for hours just watching the colours as I listen to my audio books or relax listening to music etc. Its perfect for the living room or a bedroom if you ask me. Mine is staying in my living room.
Via Micro SD card or USB flash drive, the Marsboy will play most audio formats, including :MP3 WMA WAV APE FLAC etc. You’ll find the ports on the back of your Marsboy.
And after reading the instructions I learned you can create full stereo sound by using 2 Marsboy’s in your chosen environment using the TWS function: connected to 2 speakers at once from one device, so your Marsboy duo can give you sound all around.
They’ve thought of everything when designing this and its design is simply lovely. The 5W speaker offers crystal clear sound and the LED colours will brighten your world.
